Nottingham Forest made their long-awaited return to the Premier League in 2022, ending a 23-year absence from the top flight of English football. Since then, however, their journey has been far from smooth - up until now. Fighting to stay up, the Midlands club had a 16th position finish in their returning season to the Premier League and finished 17th in the 20234/24 season with a four point deduction following a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
The club are no strangers to silverware however, having won the Football League in 1978 seven points clear of Liverpool. Forest also boast two European Champion Clubs' Cup, a UEFA Supercup, four English League Cups and two FA Cup titles. For the fans, their rich history still sparks pride and hope for the club's future.

When Jamie Carragher made his 2024/25 PL predictions at the start of the season, he really couldn't have been further off with Nottingham Forest. The decorated former Liverpool centre-back and Sky Sports pundit predicted that Forest would be relegated alongside The Saints and The Foxes. In fairness to Carragher, looking back the club's form in previous seasons, this prediction didn't seen too far fetched at the time. Following the appointment of former Wolves and Tottenham manager Nuno Espírito Santo, the club has not only managed to stay in the Premier League but has also put themselves in contention for a European spot sitting tied in third tied in points with Arsenal.

So what will this season bring for Forest? Currently only six points behind first-place Liverpool, the Nottingham based club face the Liverpool next in the Prem and will look to shorten their lead. If Forest can use their home advantage to win all three points and close the gap, the league could get very interesting. With Arsenal also looking for an in, the question is - are Forest on track to become title contenders or will the club run out of steam?
