Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel two years ago to the day and have gone from turmoil to triumph completing a unique European clean sweep.
Far from decline, the Chelsea have lifted two major trophies last season, building momentum and ending their post-Tuchel turbulence on a high.
While Tuchel brought Champions League glory in 2021, his relationship with the board fractured and he was dismissed despite still competing at the top level.
Under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea turned that instability into progress. They captured the inaugural UEFA Conference League, defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the final and becoming the first club to win all four of UEFA’s major competitions.
They didn’t stop there. In July 2025, Chelsea also triumphed in the FIFA Club World Cup, beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in New Jersey to collect their second title in that competition.
Two years ago, sacking Tuchel felt like a shock, especially after he delivered Europe's top prize. But today, Chelsea have not slipped into obscurity. They've captured international silverware and completed a unique European clean sweep.
Fleet of managerial changes and heavy spending remain, but there is now tangible progress. The Conference League win was the first trophy of the new BlueCo era and the Club World Cup added further validation.
While the Premiership title remains elusive, momentum and identity appear to be returning. If Maresca can build sustainable structure on these wins, Chelsea may just be finding their way again through trophies, ambition, and clear direction.
